Chelsea’s Premier League title win sees postman buy house after £10 bet bags £50,000 winnings

A SUNDERLAND fan has managed to buy a house off the back of Chelsea winning the Premier League title.

Ben Scott, 26, put £10 on Chelsea winning the title before the start of the season – with enhanced odds of 5,000/1 the postman scooped £50,000.

As the Black Cats struggled in the Prem, before being eventually relegated, Ben turned more of his attention to Antonio Conte’s title charge.

Ben admits he became “pretty obsessed” with watching Chelsea.

He said: “I watched the match where Chelsea won the league [against West Brom] at a casino with my girlfriend.

“I didn’t think they were going to score and was quite nervous, but when I saw Michy Batshuayi was coming on, I thought he could be an unlikely hero – and obviously he got the goal that secured the title.

"I backed Chelsea because I thought they would have an advantage with not being in Europe, as Leicester did last year when they won the title."

Ben said the winnings will be a "life-changing" amount of money for him and partner Laura, who is a nursery nurse.

"It hasn't sunk in at all yet - the first thing I plan to do is take my family for a nice meal," he added.

"We'll probably go to a steakhouse or something like that and then we plan to buy a house."

BetStars run enhanced odds on their website, but the chances of landing on a 1,000x bonus are very rare.
