Chelsea star Eden Hazard offered contract worth £300,000-a-week and is promised role as team’s ‘key man’

CHELSEA have reportedly told Eden Hazard they will continually build the team around him if he pens a new long-term contract.

The Standard claims Blues chiefs are desperate for the Belgian to agree fresh terms following strong interest from Real Madrid.

Chelsea have no intention of selling to Los Blancos, with Hazard also happy to stay at Stamford Bridge following the title-winning campaign.

But Antonio Conte and others behind the scenes are still keen for the 26-year-old to extend his contract past its current expiry date of 2020 – as exclusively revealed by SunSport in March.

Just as we reported, it’s said that Chelsea will offer Hazard a whopping £300,000-a-week to make him the Premier League’s joint-highest earner alongside Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney.

And the talismanic playmaker will also be guaranteed a ‘key man’ role – essentially making him the focal point of the squad for years to come.

Hazard isn’t the only title hero in line for a reward, with boss Conte and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois also in talks to extend their respective contracts.
