MAURIZIO SARRI is a candidate to replace Zinedine Zidane as Real Madrid manager, according to reports in Spain.
The Italian accumulated 91 points for Napoli last season, playing some of the most exciting football in Europe — but could only lead them to second place in Serie A behind Juventus.
Sarri is still under contract at the Partenopei, despite chairman Aurelio Di Laurentiis hiring Carlo Ancelotti, and is a target for Chelsea.
But El Chiringuito TV report Real Madrid could be willing to prise him away as they continue their search for a replacement for Zinedine Zidane.
Sarri had a £7million release clause at Napoli, which expired on May 31.
It means that, should anyone want to hire him, they will have to deal directly with the Serie A club.
