Team news

Chelsea– John Terry remains a doubt for the game and continues to struggle with a knee injury, whilst the game seems to have come just too soon for long-term absentee, Kurt Zouma.

Leicester– In contrast Leicester only have Matt James as an absentee and Claudio Ranieri could name an unchanged line-up from the side that drew with Southampton.

What they said

Chelsea– After securing their first victory since August, Antonio Conte praised Chelsea’s defence for adapting well to a new formation.

“In the past, we played with four, but the facts speak. When you concede many goals and you are not compact the manager and players must find a solution. For this reason, it’s important to go the other way,” he said.

“Now we have another solution and tactical system. We can play with three at the back or four, it depends on the game but I think this is a good way. Today I’m very happy because we finished with a clean sheet after conceding two and three goals in our last games. It’s important to find more confidence.

Leicester-While, Ranieri admitted that a lack of rotation may be to blame for his stalemate with Southampton.

“I have to think when we play every three days and maybe at the end of the 22 days it was much better to give some rest to some players.” The Italian said

He added: “The international break is here but how many players will rest with me? Six? Seven? The others go for their international matches.

“Then they come back two or three days before Chelsea. After that, we have the Champions League. I have to think about it.”
