PRANKSTERS chased Chris Froome while holding giant inhalers of the Giro d’Italia.
The bizarre incident happened during the 19th stage of the road race, which the Brit now leads.
Froome was cycling along when two people dressed in surgeon outfits started running behind him, carrying giant inhalers.
The prank comes on the back of Froome’s failed drug test at the 2017 Vuelta a Espana.
Froome claims he needs to use an inhaler to help his asthma.
But that didn’t stop testers finding a positive sample for banned salbutamol in his urine last year.
It contained double the legal permitted amount and let to criticism from fellow cyclists.
And it now seems fans are getting in on the action, with many finding the giant inhalers to be hilarious.
But that didn’t stop Froome from going on to hold a stage-lead over Tom Dumoulin of just under two minutes.
He then ended up three minutes at the front ahead of the stage finish in Bardonechhia.
