Conor McGregor fires back at NSAC: ‘I don’t ever want to fight in Nevada again. Ever’

CONOR McGregor does not want to fight in Las Vegas ever again, according to UFC president Dana White.

The UFC president was speaking on FOX Sports show The Herd on Wednesday night, where he revealed that the huge $150,000 fine imposed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission has prompted the Dubliner to fight back.

“Conor McGregor hit me yesterday and said, ‘I don’t ever want to fight in Nevada again. Ever,'” White explained.

“How does that make sense for the state of Nevada?

“You’re gonna try to fine this kid and Nate (Diaz) that kind of money, it just makes people not want to come fight in our state. And that’s not a good thing.”

McGregor was fined $150,000 and handed 50 hours of community service for his part in an ugly bottle and can-throwing melee with Nate Diaz and his team at the UFC 202 pre-fight press conference at the David Copperfield Theatre at the MGM Grand back in August.

Diaz hasn't received his punishment for the incident, but is expected to receive a similarly hefty fine.

But White explained the financial punishments handed out by the NSAC are set to drive the sport's big stars away from the state, which is also the home of the UFC's Las Vegas headquarters.

"Guess what?" White continued.

"Conor McGregor doesn't need Nevada. He can fight anywhere. He can fight in Iowa, OK?

"We can put his fight on an island off the coast of anywhere. This makes no sense for the state. It's terrible."
