Conor McGregor loses title: Jose Aldo wants lightweight bout with Irishman after being KO’d in 13 seconds by him at featherweight

JOSE ALDO wants another crack at “p****” Conor McGregor.

McGregor ‘relinquished’ his UFC featherweight belt on Saturday night – which has in turn sparked an interim title fight between Max Holloway and Anthony Pettis for UFC 206.

The winner will likely face Aldo to unify the featherweight championship and the Brazilian hopes to be back in the Octagon to defend his crown in February or March.

Aldo, 30, then plans on moving up to 155 pounds to meet McGregor in the lightweight division.

He said: “First, I want to defend my title, and then go after a fight with him [at lightweight].

“Just like Dana [White] said, we can choose who we want to fight, so I want to fight him. That’s what will happen.”

McGregor, 28, knocked Aldo out in 13 seconds in December 2015 to initially claim the featherweight crown.

But Aldo, who won it back in July with a unanimous decision win over Frankie Edgar, insists he never felt he had lost it.

He added: “No matter what happens, I will always be the champion. I had no doubt about it. The moment I lost, I knew the belt would be mine. It was a matter of time. It’s not the way I wanted, but I’m happy because I know I’m the champion.”

Aldo says he is not shocked McGregor dropped the belt - as he reckons the Irishman was too afraid to defend it in a rematch.

He taunted: "I knew that would happen. To me, I never stopped being champion. I lost that fight because of an accident. I knew that I would win a rematch, that I would be champion again.

"It’s not my fault that he’s such a p**** he was never the champion. I don’t see myself losing to anyone in this division or any other (division)."
