And now the ‘Money Man’ can enjoy his retirement knowing he is worth a staggering ONE BILLION dollars, around £772million.

His fight with McGregor, which was watched in over 200 countries, tipped Mayweather over the ten figure mark.

The Las Vegas showdown was worth around £540m after pay-per-view figures making it the richest in boxing history by far.

Mayweather pocketed £230m from the scrap and wasn’t shy in showing off his wealth by posting an image on Instagram of a table full of money whilst sitting on a private jet.

And it is no wonder the 40-year-old trousered a huge amount of money after figures revealed the pay-per-view sales record was smashed by almost two million viewers.

In the UK, viewers were being charged £19.95 to tune in whilst in America the fight cost a huge £76 as around 6.6m fight fans paid to watch the scrap.

Mayweather held the previous record when he fought Manny Pacquiao in 2015 - taking home £193m in the process.

But furious viewers in America felt like they were left shortchanged after Showtime, the channel broadcasting the fight, endured a string on technical difficulties.

The fight even had to be delayed whilst services were being rebooted.

Tens-of-thousands of fans were unable to watch the fight with the stream continually buffering under the strain of viewers tuning in.

Zack Barter, of Portland, Oregon, is suing over the $99 stream which was plagued with “grainy video, error screens, buffer events, and stalls”.

And a lawsuit has even been filed in the US against channel Showtime for unlawful trade practices and unjust enrichment.
