Conor McGregor works out, then checks out after epic mic drop at UFC 202 open workouts

IF CONOR McGregor was feeling any regret from his crazy can-throwing antics at Wednesday’s UFC 202 press conference, he certainly didn’t show it at the UFC 202 open workouts.

McGregor again showed up late – though not as late as yesterday – and went through a short workout session for the fans, shadow boxing and running jiu jitsu drills with his longtime coach John Kavanagh.

And when he was handed the microphone by interviewer Megan Olivi McGregor took his moment to make crystal clear his feelings about Nate Diaz and his team ahead of their fight on Saturday night.

“That fairytale he’s having is about to come to an end,” McGregor declared.

“So all his little fans thinking he’s invincible and that he can’t be knocked out – he can be knocked out and he will be knocked out.”

“F**k the Diaz brothers. F**k those cockroaches,” McGregor said.

“It’s a big fight, it always was. We came here ready for war, not to throw little bitch bottles and run. We’re here ready to fight, so let’s go.”

And McGregor batted away a question about whether a second defeat to Diaz would damage his legacy in the sport.

“My legacy is set in stone,” McGregor said dismissively.

“My legacy was set in stone when Jose (Aldo) crumbled in 13 seconds.

“This is just something else outside of this. This is just a fight. I’m happy with that because that’s what I came here for. I came here for a straight fight.”

And after a short word in the ear from coach Kavanagh, McGregor delivered his final flourish, tossing the mic into the air and walking off.

“Like I said, f**k Team Diaz,” he said.

“And if you’re down with Team Diaz, then f**k you too.”
