Paul Tisdale’s side lost 2-1 to Blackpool in the play-off final last year, and never looked in with a chance of beating the Sky Blues today.
Centre-back Willis opened the scoring in emphatic finish in the 49th minute, as he curled home his strike into the far corner from outside the box.
Shipley then doubled Coventry’s lead moments after, as his left-footed drive was deflected into the top right corer.
Grimmer then got his name on the score sheet with an exquisite attempt from 25 yards out, that nestled into the top left corner.
Kyle Edwards then netted a consolation goal in the 89th minute, but the damage had already been done.
