COVENTRY CITY have confirmed assistant manager Steve Taylor has left the club because of health issues.
The 48-year-old collapsed on the training ground with a bleed on the brain in August.
He was absent for much of their promotion-winning League Two campaign and is still receiving treatment.
Taylor began attending games again in November.
And he was boss Mark Robins’ guest for last week’s Wembley play-off final victory over Exeter.
Taylor, who returned to Coventry for a second time with Robins in March 2017, said: “I’m gutted to be leaving as I love the club, but I have to concentrate on my recuperation and making a full recovery, and I am still receiving on-going treatment.
“I was at Wembley on Monday and will always take a keen interest and wish the club and its fantastic supporters all the best for the future.”
Coventry chief executive Dave Boddy said paid tribute to former number two.

He said: “On behalf of the club, I would like to thank Steve for the contributions that he made in both spells and particularly when he came back with Mark and helped to make an immediate impact, to win the Checkatrade Trophy at Wembley.”
Former Walsall defender and ex-Chelsea youth chief Adrian Viveash filled in as assistant following Taylor’s illness.
