Cricket ace Ben Stokes cracked a boozy joke which could be offensive to Muslims

He asks a fan of Asian heritage: “What do you say when someone is mean?”

The bleary-eyed all-rounder then delivers a sweary punchline which could be considered offensive to Muslims.

The fan, who he calls Ali in the footage, was not offended by the alleged play on words, which we are not repeating.

But a student who sent us the clip said: “Ben had obviously had a few drinks. I was a bit taken aback.

“He was asked to do a video by a bloke to send to his brother in Australia. He knew he was being filmed.”

Our source said: “He was just joking around and I don’t know what they were talking about before he said it.”

Stokes was out in Cardiff on Tuesday night after helping England beat New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy.

Sources close to the Durham star yesterday said he used a fake Cockney accent to say “Hello”, which was misinterpreted.

Stokes hit a century in England’s rained-off game with Australia in Birmingham yesterday.

The Sun has taken the decision not to publish the video online.
