CRISTIANO RONALDO was back in training today just over 12 hours since he was named the world’s best footballer.
At a glittering ceremony inside the Eiffel Tower, CR7 beat off competition from great rival Lionel Messi and Neymar to win the Ballon d’Or.
It was the fifth time he has won the prestigious award, and he is now tied with Messi himself.
But it was down to business for the 32-year-old today as he joined his Real Madrid team-mates in training ahead of their clash against Seville at the weekend.
And the onus will be on Ronaldo to lead his side to victory – they can temporarily close the gap on La Liga leaders Barcelona to five points.
Real Madrid are in fourth spot in the standings after a shaky start, and last week only managed a 0-0 draw against Athletico Bilbao.
After winning the Ballon d’Or, Ronaldo claimed no one is better than him.
Speaking to France Football, the typically understated Portuguese said: “I don’t see anyone better than me.
‘BEST IN HISTORY’ Ronaldo claims nobody in the game today is better than him
“No player does things that I cannot do myself, but I see things others can’t do.
“There’s no more complete player than me.
“I’m the best player in history – in the good and the bad moments.”
