Cristiano Ronaldo reveals he has his own line of “CR7” Chelsea boots – which cost £169 as the Real Madrid ace continues his push into the world of high fashion

CRISTIANO RONALDO might have record-breaking kit sales, a hotel, a museum and a line of after shave – but you might not know he also has a line of Chelsea boots!

It might make sense for someone who regularly wows fans all over the world with his feet to have a range of shoes that – he hopes – does the same.

Ronaldo is no stranger to the fashion world. Manchester United fans will remember the infamous sweater he wore when posing with Sir Alex Ferguson after signing for the Red Devils.

And ever since, he has been closely associated with the world of high fashion – regularly linked with supermodels and courted by the world’s top couture brands to be the face of their latest campaigns.

But now the 31-year-old wants to cash in himself. Ronaldo has been actively pushing for his brand to be expanded as he continues to play into his mid-30s.

Ronny might have booted Chelsea’s chances of winning the Champions League final in 2008 – scoring a header in Moscow as United triumphed – but he seems most please with boots named after the West London area.

According to the CR7footwear.com wesbite, the Chelsea boots cost 199.99 Euros – or about £169 – with the boots made in Portugal.

In a wide-ranging interview with ON TV, he described how he was going about breaking into the world of clothing and fashion.

He told the interviewer: “Shoes. You like it? You don’t see the quality?

“We have, small details, you don’t have to have big details. When you work with the best team in the world, I think my team that my guys are.

“They work hard like me outside of football. Business is something that I like. In the future I can see myself in that position.

“But now, as you know, I have to focus on football because that is my job. But outside of football I have a fantastic team.

“Guys in specific areas that take care of me. I feel blessed for that because I have an unbelievable team.

“I like to know, it’s important. When something has your name you should be interested in the things going on.

“Not only about my shoes, but all the products, the hotels, the Nike products, blankets, headphones, many things we have.

“Of course we are in control. They give me the information about everything. I’m not 100 per cent worried about things going on because we have a fantastic team.”

Ronaldo has a whole range of footwear, including boots, loafers and brogues – got to wonder whether they’re any good for a spot of keepy-uppy with though.

The Real Madrid ace signed away his image rights to Valencia owner Peter Lim last year, in a six-year deal with Lim’s company Mint Media.

He said at the time: “I am very excited to announce my latest deal with Mint Media, owned by my good friend, businessman Peter Lim from Singapore, to acquire my image rights.

“This is a very strategic move for me and my management team to take the Cristiano Ronaldo brand to the next level, especially in Asia.”
