Cristiano Ronaldo visits Conor McGregor at UFC 202 training camp in Las Vegas

CRISTIANO Ronaldo was a constant presence in the headlines as Portugal claimed victory in the 2016 European Championships.

And the Portuguese hitman paid a visit to another global sporting icon as he dropped in on UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor‘s training camp in Las Vegas.

The Dubliner is making his final preparations ahead of his huge Las Vegas rematch with nemesis Nate Diaz at UFC 202 on August 20.

And ‘The Notorious’ one took time out from his training regimen to pose for a few Instagram pics with the football star, who also posed for a pic with McGregor’s longtime coach, John Kavanagh.

McGregor is already the biggest name in mixed martial arts, and with Ronaldo posting a face-off pic of them both to his staggering 70 MILLION Instagram followers, it seems McGregor’s star is only set to rise even further in the coming weeks.

McGregor faces Diaz at UFC 202 on August 20 looking to exact revenge for his second-round submission loss to the Californian back at UFC 196 earlier this year.

The Dubliner demanded a rematch at the same weight class (170lb welterweight), despite the original bout being held TWO weight classes and 25lbs above his championship weight (145lb featherweight).

And regardless of the outcome of his rematch with Diaz, it seems another big rematch will be next for McGregor, who is set to take on former victim Jose Aldo, who claimed the interim featherweight title at UFC 200.

Watching Aldo claim victory over Frankie Edgar that night was another superstar footballer. SunSport captured a couple of exclusive pics with Manchester United‘s new superstar signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was sat at Octagonside to enjoy UFC 200 earlier this month.

McGregor was also Octagonside at UFC 200, where he took particular interest in the Aldo-Edgar battle, standing up for the first two and a half minutes of the bout to get a clear view of his future opponent.

And he also brushed shoulders with the likes of Justin Timberlake, who snapped a pic with the UFC champion for his Instagram page.
