Dan Hardy: WWE legend Brock Lesnar ‘has no place in MMA’ after his failed drug test

THE MMA world has come out in force to criticise Brock Lesnar following his failed drug test ahead of UFC 200.

The WWE superstar and former UFC heavyweight champion made his comeback after a four-and-a-half-year absence.

And Lesnar looked in rude good health as he dominated Mark Hunt in the final round of their co-main event bout to secure a unanimous decision win.

But following news of his ‘potential anti-doping policy violation’, figures from around the sport have rallied behind Lesnar’s victim at UFC 200, with Hunt himself demanding anything from 50% to 100% of Lesnar’s $2.5million fight purse in compensation.

British UFC star and UFC commentator Dan ‘The Outlaw’ Hardy made his position very clear in a tweet posted this afternoon.

The Nottingham man said simply: “Fair play to Hunt. Brock has no place in MMA.

“He’s embarrassed himself and put a legitimate fighter at risk.”

Lesnar’s ‘potential’ violation was triggered by an A-sample failure following an out-of-competition test on June 28.

The WWE star will be afforded due process and has the option of having his B-sample tested.

Other MMA stars lined up to state their lack of surprise at Lesnar’s failed test, with Hunt labelling his opponent “a f***ing cheat”.

Brock himself responded to the news via a statement to the Associated Press.

He said: “We will get to the bottom of this.”
