Dan Henderson becomes an adopted Manchester City fan ahead of clash with United fan Michael Bisping

UFC legend and middleweight title challenger Dan Henderson stoked the competitive rivalry between himself and champion Michael Bisping when he visited the Etihad Stadium ahead of his bout with the Brit at UFC 204.

Bisping was photographed in Manchester United colours before and after his championship win over Luke Rockhold at UFC 199 in LA.

And Henderson was a guest of honour at United’s cross-town rivals Manchester City on Wednesday as he was given a tour of the stadium and presented with a shirt as he declared: “I’m now a Manchester CIty fan – for life!”

And during a Q&A session during the UFC 204 open workouts at the Manchester Arena, Henderson was asked about his experience at the Etihad.

“Well, you know, they kind of adopted me as their fan because I guess Bisping’s a Manchester United fan,” he explained.

“We don’t watch a whole lot of ‘football’ back in the States. I just appreciate the support they gave me today.

“It was pretty cool seeing the stadium and how big and nice it was today.

“I’d love to come back to experience one of the big games between the two.”

Henderson takes on Bisping in the main event of UFC 204 on Saturday night. You can watch the action live on BT Sport.
