DIEGO MARADONA missed the official unveiling of assistants ahead of Friday’s World Cup draw.
The 57-year-old had allegedly injured his shoulder and was resting at his hotel in Moscow.
Maradona is one of eight ‘FIFA Legends’ expected to take part in Friday’s draw at the State Kremlin Palace.
But he was the only absentee when the star-studded line-up appeared on stage on Thursday ahead of the main event.
Each assistant represents a World Cup-winning nation – except from Nikita Simonyan, who represents host nation Russia.
Cafu, Fabio Cannavaro, Diego Forlan, Gordon Banks, Laurent Blanc, Carlos Puyol and Simonyan were all present.
RT reported that the Argentina legend missed the unveiling because of a ‘heart problem’.
Maradona, who captained his home nation to World Cup glory in 1986, suffered a heart attack in 2004.

He has previously struggled with substance abuse and commonly consumed a poor diet.
The 57-year-old featured in four World Cups and bagged 34 goals in 91 appearances for Argentina.
Maradona recently called for Argentina boss Jorge Sampaoli to step down from international duty, and hinted he may be the man for the new job.
He turned to Twitter to push his case and shared an image of his win record compared to other bosses.
