Dillian Whyte to face Joseph Parker on July 28 with Anthony Joshua or Deontay Wilder around the corner

DILLIAN WHYTE will fight Joseph Parker on July 28 at London’s O2 Arena.

The Body Snatcher, 30, will get his chance to prove he deserves to be among the world’s heavyweight elite when he faces the respected New Zealander.

The winner of the fight would be in pole position for a crack at the world crown later in the year – either against heavyweight kings Anthony Joshua or Deonaty Wilder.

A press conference on Thursday at the Dorchester hotel will pit the two giants face-to-face.

Parker, 26, is still reeling after losing his WBO heavyweight belt to Joshua in Cardiff in March.

Whyte believed he had done enough to earn a place as a mandatory challenger for Wilder’s WBC title but he was swerved after he stopped Lucas Browne.

The Jamaican-born Londoner is unbeaten in seven fights since his thrilling world title bout with rival Joshua in December 2015.

In the three years since, Whyte has won the British heavyweight title and the WBC Silver title, claiming the scalps of domestic bruisers David Allen and other rival Dereck Chisora, as well as Robert Helenius and Browne.

Meanwhile, Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn believes Joshua’s super-fight with Wilder will be agreed “within the next three to four weeks.”

Hearn told TalkSPORT: “I think we’re gonna get the Wilder fight done, it’s just a case of whether we can get it done by the time of his next fight, which could be as early as September.

“If that’s the case we do [Alexander] Povektin first, then Wilder.

“But I think the Wilder fight will be agreed within the next three to four weeks.”
