Eddie Alvarez warns Conor McGregor he won’t get his hands on the ‘Big Boy’ belt at UFC 205

WHILE previous opponents have shrunk in the face of the Conor McGregor‘s verbal tirades, UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez seemed to rise to the occasion.

The pair exchanged jibes during a typically lively UFC 205 press conference and genuinely seemed to relish the verbal skirmishes with the fired-up Dubliner, laughing off McGregor’s jibes and even firing back with a few of his own.

When McGregor teased Alvarez, saying that the lightweight champ hadn’t even managed to negotiate more money for himself for the fight, Alvarez just shrugged it off.

“I was OK with the money,” he said.

“This guy is easy money. EASY money.”

When McGregor taunted him, saying: “Mystic Mac predicts I’m gonna KO you inside one round,” Alvarez simply burst out laughing.

And when McGregor tried to belittle the Philadelphia man, Alvarez fired back with a stern warning.

“You ain’t got a f*****g shot,” he declared.

“You’re coach knows you ain’t got a shot. Anyone who knows anything about fighting knows you ain’t got a f*****g shot.

“You’re here because you’re the easiest dude in the division. That’s why you’re here.”

And when McGregor laid out his plan for two-weight domination, Alvarez warned the Dubliner that he will end up without a belt at all.

“They’re gonna have to gather an army to try and take one of them off me,” said McGregor.

“I’m the featherweight world champion. Now in November I’m gonna be the lightweight world champion and I’m gonna hold two of them consecutively. That’s it!”

But Alvarez instantly fired back: “Not a shot.

“You’ll be beltless November 12. Not at ’45, not at ’55.

“You’ll have to give up the ‘Little Boy’ belt and you’re not getting the ‘Big Boy’ belt.”

The pair will exchange words for fists on Saturday November 12 in the main event of UFC 205, when Alvarez’s UFC lightweight championship will be on the line.
