England 37 Australia 21: Eddie Jones’ side stunning victory over the Wallabies sees them equal win record

ENGLAND became invincibles as they crushed Australia AGAIN with the help of Jonathan Joseph’s two-try heroics.

Eddie Jones’ side wrapped up the year with their 13th win from as many games – and a FOURTH victory against the Wallabies.

The record-equalling result also draws them level with Clive Woodward's World Cup-winning side of 2002/03.

Their total of 14 wins began at the 2015 World Cup win against Uruguay and they are now just four short of catching the All Black's record set this year.

But after a shocking start against the Wallabies it needed some heroics from double scorer Joseph and Ben Youngs - as well as some huge carries from Nathan Hughes and Courtney Lawes to tee-up the comeback, as England went on to lift the Cook Cup.

The nightmare opening quarter was similar to the first game of the June Test series in Brisbane as England were 10-0 down early on after Bernard Foley converted Sefa Naivalu's try.

It was one-way traffic from the Wallabies and Jones's Red Rose men were under the pump at their Twickenham fortress.

Centre Owen Farrell had to steady the nerves with back-to-back penalties before Joseph struck after a Wallaby mix-up in midfield between Nick Phipps and Sekope Kefu.

Saracens star Farrell, who nailed 15 points, hacked through and it sat up beautifully for Bath centre Joseph to scoop it up and run home.

Foley clawed back the lead before the break to make it a three-point game and set-up a thrilling second-half scrap.

It was Joseph who had the home crowd back on their feet when his superb chip was grounded by Yarde - who had a rollercoaster game - but came out of it with huge credit after his score.

From then - England absolutely steamrolled the Aussies and Michael Cheika's side were rattled.

Scope Kefu ran in a brilliant solo try as he gassed Joe Marler and Farrell as he charged for the line as the visitors came within 11 points.

Winger Dane Haylett-Petty saw yellow for a late and dirty shoulder charge into the ribs of Mike Brown and Joseph then rubbed salt into the wounds with his second as he poached from close range.

Michael Cheika's side had already been defeated though, and Jones's history boys were having a party.

Australia will be sick of the sight of England - Jones will be wishing he could play his countrymen every week.
