ENGLAND have crushed Pakistan in the Second Test at Headingley by an innings and 55 runs in a superb all-round performance.

In a far cry from the Lord’s shambles, Joe Root and Co dominated from start to finish to wrap up victory within three days.

Jos Buttler thumped a devastating 80 not out early on day three, as Dom Bess took his first Test wickets to complete the rout.

Before tea on day three, England bowled out Pakistan for 134 in their second innings and draw the two-Test series at 1-1.

Root’s side completed an emphatic victory halfway through the third day when Mohammed Abbas was caught in the slip off Stuart Broad, his third wicket of the innings.

Earlier England took their first innings to 363 all out, a lead of 189 runs – as Bess picked up three huge wickets in his second Test.

Sam Curran – celebrating his 20th birthday – grabbed the important wicket of Shadab Khan, while Chris Woakes also snared one scalp.

But it was James Anderson who got the ball rolling, picking up two early wickets to all-but decide the fat of the Second Test.

Bess then grabbed three wickets in the afternoon session, before Broad mopped up the tail in Leeds.
