England’s Wayne Rooney steps out in Manchester sporting a much fuller hair-do than the thin, patchy look of recent weeks

A NEW season often means a new lease of life – take Wayne Rooney‘s hair for example.

Just one month removed from England’s Euro 2016 disaster – when Roo’s hair turned positively thin and patchy – the Manchester United skipper is incredibly sporting a full head of hair once more.

It’s no secret that Old Trafford star Roo has used hair transplants in the past to keep his locks looking luscious.

But is he now experimenting with spray-on hair thickener? Stepping out in Manchester on Friday he was sporting a far fuller look than he was after the Iceland fiasco just four weeks ago.

And hair transplant surgeon Dr Asim Shahmalak certainly thinks thickeners are the ex-Everton ace’s current tools of choice – before warning if he wants to have his own hair permanently, then further surgery is a must.

Dr Shahmalak said: “Wayne clearly needs further work towards the back of his scalp, so that he has an even covering of hair right across his scalp.

“He still has a good covering of donor hair around the back and sides of his scalp which can be moved to the top of the head so these problems can be rectified.

“Wayne is a good advert for hair thickeners. He looks great when he is wearing it when he is playing, but the problem with these products is that they come out when you shampoo your hair.

“So if you don’t wear them all the time, you can end up with pictures like these [during Euros] showing very different sides to your hair loss.”

Back in 2011, Roo splashed out a whopping £15,000 on extensive hair transplant surgery – with a further £15,000 spent since then in maintenance.

Meanwhile a shiny new can of thickening spray can be bought for as little as a fiver… If you’re on a budget, that is.
