Harry Kane is England’s best player at taking set-pieces — according to Three Lions team-mate Ryan Bertrand.
Roy Hodgson has faced fierce criticism by instructing striker Kane to take corners in the Euro 2016 warm-ups and Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Russia.
Left-back Bertrand said: “Harry Kane has shown that although he is the man who has got the Golden Boot and he scores a hell of a lot of goals, that he is a fantastic technician from set-pieces as well. He is the man to take set-pieces.
“The way takes corners, and I am speaking from behind closed doors, makes them very hard to defend.
“I have seen him day-in, day-out the way he takes them and it is the decision of the manager and all the boys are fully behind him.”
Yet Former England star Teddy Sheringham is not so sure.

He added: "*Harry Kane on corner kicks — why? Anticipation is a striker’s most important asset.
"They’re on the move, they’re thinking, they’re reading the game — they know the area the ball will drop into and they’re moving a split-second before the defender. That’s what gets you goals.”
Bertrand also claims he is fit again after struggling with an injury ahead of coming to France.
He said: “I am fully fit and training. I had what felt like a bit of cramp against Australia towards the end.
"It’s a natural thing, you just crack on. I don’t want to go down and the next day the pain was still there.
"I had a slight bit of fluid in my calf but it’s gone now.”
