Everton ready to ‘listen to offers for Wayne Rooney in huge summer clear-out which could see Sam Allardyce axed’

EVERTON are ready to listen to offers for Wayne Rooney this summer as part of a huge clear-out.

The Toffees are planning an overhaul of their playing squad after a turbulent Premier League season.

Boss Sam Allardyce and chairman Bill Kenwright are also facing the axe, as part of the massive restructure.

Majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has been left shocked by Everton’s poor campaign after splashing £200m in the past two transfer windows.

He wants big changes, including flogging 32-year-old Rooney just 12-months after he re-joined his boyhood side.

According to The Mirror, the club have been disappointed by the Manchester United legend’s impact.

Kenwright’s position as decision-maker alongside Moshiri is also under threat, and could have his role reduced.

An agreement when the club was bought meant Kenwright could stay on as chairman, but that runs out in August.

Meanwhile, Allardyce’s position as manager is under review just five-months into his deal, with fans wanting him out already.
