DC UNITED reportedly want to make Carlos Tevez the marquee signing to celebrate the opening of their new stadium.
The ambitious MLS side will move to the Audi Field on July 14.
And the Washington Post claims that the former Manchester United and City star tops the list of big name targets they hope to secure to lead them into a new era.
Tevez, 34, is currently playing in his homeland for Argentine giants Boca Juniors.
He rejoined his boyhood club for the third time in January after a brief spell playing in the Chinese Super League.
But the forward is not the only star striker DC United have their eyes on when the next US transfer window opens on July 10.
West Ham’s Javier Hernandez, 29, is another top target.
The Mexican has struggled since returning to the Premier League last year and is believed to have already been offered to a number of clubs.

The Italian’s representative Mino Raiola helped to broker the move for Ibrahimovic to head over the Atlantic.
And with the ex-Man City ace’s deal expiring with Nice at the end of the season, the super-agent could soon be thrashing out another contract in the States.
