FIFA 18 to introduce World Cup 2018 mode for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch following EA Sports ‘leak’… and it’s free

FIFA 18 appear set to introduce a full World Cup 2018 mode for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch after an EA Sports “leak”.

The rumoured tournament edition for the video game will come in the form of a downloadable add-on rather than separate game – which has been seen in recent years.

It won’t be the first time FIFA have released a World Cup, having first done so in 1998 – releasing a new edition every four years.

The 1998, 2002 and 2006 editions were separate disk, but most recently fans were treated to a free add-on.

Recently an leaked image of FIFA 18 code shows up something called “Free FIFA World Cup Pack” – along with the usual FUT packs.

The snap has set tongues wagging with many believing we’re on the brink of being handed the freebie.

It’s just the latest hint though, as Spanish commentator Manolo Lama told Radio COPE that he had been recording his World Cup lines last December.

Lama claimed: “I have to record it for FIFA World Cup in December, I think it will be out in February or March”.

EA Sports Spain’s head of marketing Daniel Montes was said to be present for the interview – and it’s claimed he looked visibly frustrated at the slip of the tongue.

We’re already well into April now, with the World Cup less than two months away – so expect this patch imminently.
