Floyd Mayweather played charity basketball game hours after beating Conor McGregor

His tenth-round victory over the Irish UFC star ensured he retired with a perfect 50-0.

The pair caused controversy in the lead-up to the billion dollar Las Vegas showdown with a number of outspoken and expletive-laden press conferences.

But Mayweather has shown a different side to the fighting machine that made him famous by revealing his basketball antics.

Appearing on the Steve Harvey on Monday night, he confirmed: “Yes, it was for cancer, the next day.

“It’s about giving back. I’m a man of my word and I stand by my word.”

While McGregor currently relaxes with his family in Ibiza before an expected return to the Octagon, Mayweather reiterated that he will stay retired.

And he insisted that all his issues with McGregor were settled in the ring.

Mayweather said: "No we haven't spoken since the fight.

"We had a beef and settled our beef.

"I knew he was used to fighting 25 minutes, and I said 'once we get him past 25 minutes he's a dead man walking'."

He added: "This is it. My body is pushed to the limit and I've done everything I can do in the sport.

"You have to realise, they couldn't find anyone in boxing that could beat me.

"So they had to go to a whole other combat sport and get the best guy... and I beat him too."
