FOOTBALLER Danny Simpson’s ex has told him she will drop her big-money maintenance demands — if he gives her another baby.
Stephanie Ward, 29, has accused Leicester City ace Simpson of not wanting to see daughter Skye, five.
But he has hit back, claiming Stephanie is the one blocking him seeing his girl — while wanting him to increase the money he pays in child maintenance each month.
Yet despite the row between the former couple, which exploded on Twitter this week, a pal of Simpson says Stephanie has asked the star to father another child with her.
The friend said: “Stephanie has told Danny that she wants considerably more a month
“But she promised if he gave her another baby she wouldn’t ever ask for an additional penny from him again.
“She has even told him she’d happily have artificial insemination if he doesn’t want to sleep with her again after their difficult split.
“It was a really direct demand — she said she would never ask for more money again if he would agree.
“She said she wanted her children to have the same dad.
“It’s a mess of a situation for everyone and just one example of some of the clashes they’ve had recently.”
Simpson and former law student Stephanie were in a turbulent relationship from 2010 to 2014, three years after the birth of Skye.
In November 2014 Stephanie called 999 during a heated row with the footballer.
A policeman claimed he arrived at Simpson’s home in Worsley, Gtr Manchester, to find him “straddling” Stephanie “with his hands firmly across her neck”.
But she later retracted her claim that he throttled her.
At his trial in 2015, Simpson was found guilty of assault and sentenced to 300 hours’ community service.
Stephanie said she has since tried to put the couple’s differences aside for the sake of their child.
But the row blew up again on Wednesday when Simpson ranted online, claiming Stephanie stopped Skye from calling him on his 30th birthday.
Stephanie hit back, calling him “bitter”.

She shared screen grabs of emails and texts from the defender, seemingly showing him ignoring Skye’s attempts to communicate with him.
Simpson’s pal said: “He and Stephanie initially arranged for their daughter to stay at his for his birthday.
“But then Stephanie got mad that he was dating someone and said ‘I promise you now you won’t be seeing my daughter on your birthday’.
“Stephanie then accused him publicly of turning down the offer to see her.
“But he was desperate to see her.
“Danny knows he’s far from perfect but considers himself a good dad and he is fed up of seeing his parenting skills dragged through the mud.
“To confuse things even further, Stephanie has been begging Danny to have another child with her.
“She said if he wouldn’t sleep with her she’d be happy to have it done in a hospital.
“Danny was stunned.
“But she still insisted he should think about her offer.
“He’s finding it near impossible.”
Simpson hinted this week he had reached breaking point in his relationship with his ex.
He tweeted: “When you fund your ex’s whole life and can’t even get a happy birthday message off your child.
“What a world we live in.
“Turning 30 makes you think it’s time to open your mouth and stop keeping quiet because you kick a football.”
But Stephanie hit back with a series of messages she claimed were from Simpson.
One said: “Only you can help yourself and accept my job.
“There won’t ever be a set routine and be flexible.
“You should know that cos you’ve been around football a lot.
“You’ve chose this path.
“You wanted to move on and get a new family and I’ll see my daughter when I can.”
Stephanie also shared a message that said Skye could spend Simpson’s birthday with him.
It read: “It’ll be nice for you to wake up with her on your birthday won’t it.”
And she fumed that she and Skye had sent thoughtful Christmas gifts to Simpson’s but had received nothing in return.
The footballer’s pal claimed the emails did not show that Stephanie later retracted her offer for their daughter to spend Christmas with him.
They said they also did not show she had allegedly begged him to have another child with her.
Stephanie said on Twitter this week how she was offered a restraining order after Simpson was arrested.
She added: “I refused as I didn’t want it to affect Skye.
“I deeply regret this.
“No man should be able to bully or lie about a woman online.”
Last night she said: “It’s a requirement by law for Danny to pay child maintenance.
“I’m not at liberty to discuss this further because I would be in breach of court.
“We discussed having another child but some of these conversations were more than a year ago.
“Danny is a domestic violence perpetrator so his tweet is harassment.
“He begged to have me back and offered to have counselling — but never did.
“We were co-parenting well until I started dating again.
“Danny then refused to see Skye for four months.
“He is the one who’s made things difficult.
“I didn’t attack him, I defended myself and he forced me to do that online this week.”
But the player’s pal said: “He just wants a happy relationship with Skye.”
Simpson and his agent declined to comment last night.
The star, who won last season’s Premier League title with Leicester, has regularly hit the headlines during his career and used to date former X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos.
In February 2013, footage emerged of him lying unconscious in the street after being attacked in a 4am brawl in Manchester.
And last month he posted a video of him driving using no hands with his child in the car.
