Former Chelsea star Ramires announces his desire to quit China and sign for Inter Milan in the January transfer window

RAMIRES has spoken of his desire to leave Jiangsu Suning in January and sign for sister club Inter Milan.

The 30-year-old is keen on quitting the Chinese Super League this month and return to Europe – just under two years after leaving Chelsea.

Speaking to Sky Italy, the Brazilian confirmed his intentions to link up with the Serie A giants in the winter transfer window.

He said: “It’s not all down to me, but I’d be very happy to return to Europe. I hope an agreement can be reached with Inter.

“It would be a great moment for me and my family. I’ll be ready, if it does happen.”

Ramires also revealed how he will be willing to lower his wage demands to force through a move to the Nerazzurri.

He added: “As far as the wages are concerned, there are different parties involved and the negotiations need to satisfy both clubs.

“I just hope an agreement can be reached and I can join Inter. I didn’t speak with [Inter boss Luciano] Spalletti when Inter came to China and I’ve never met him, but he’s a great coach and I knew about him before he joined Inter.

“I’m pleased that somebody who knows so much about football like him has his eye on me.

“I just need to keep on doing well here and hope that I can go back to Europe.”

SunSport revealed back in October that Inter were keeping tabs on Ramires ahead of a possible switch in January.

Speaking of a possible transfer, Jiangsu boss Fabio Capello announced that the move could be hindered by Financial Fair Play regulations.

The former England manager told Sky Sport: “Of course Ramires is a great player and he’s important for us.

“We’d be happy if he would stay, but if he were to go to Inter, he would strengthen them.

“It’s not down to Inter or down to us, it’s down to financial fair play and many other parameters.”

After finishing as runners-up in his first season, Ramires could only inspire Jiangsu to an 11th place finish this campaign.
