Former LA Galaxy star recalls the time David Beckham fell flat on his face because his flip-flops were super-glued to the floor
DAVID BECKHAM was put in his place during his opening year at LA Galaxy as he was hit with payback after he pranked one of his new teammates.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid winger used duct-tape to shut Kyle Martino’s locker while the latter was training.

But Martino, who played alongside Becks in midfield, did not let the super-signing have the last laugh as their pranking war ended with the Englishman falling flat on his face!
Speaking to ESPN, he said: “To illustrate the joker Beckham wanted to be, he duct-taped my locker shut when I was out at training.
“Someone was like, ‘Yeah, David did it.’ So the next day when he went out, he always set up his gear perfectly in his locker, and he would put his flip-flops right in front of his chair.
“So the last thing he did was slide his feet in and walk away. That day I Krazy-Glued his flip-flops to the ground and he came in.
“Think about, this is a multi-million dollar asset to the LA Galaxy, and here’s a kid barely making six figures.
“I had to leave because I couldn’t keep a straight face, but when he got into them he went to go walk and fell flat on his face.”

During his five-year stint with LA Galaxy, the 42-year-old made 98 appearances and helped raise the profile of football in America.
He helped them lift the MLS Cup in 2011 and 2012 after playing alongside former Premier League stars Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan.
Beckham then left America to join Paris Saint-Germain in 2013, which is where he retired.
