FORMER Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has taken to Instagram to show off the aftermath of his horrific hand injury.
The Mexican forward, 28, was absent from Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga opener against Borussia Monchengladbach – after falling down the stairs at his home and breaking his hand.

Ex-United super-sub Hernandez – known as Chicharito – sustained the injury during pre-season but only went through surgery to repair the damage on Friday.
And he posted on Instagram, sharing a video, captioned: “Hello people. I wanted to make this video to thank you all for your supporting messages, for sending your love and also your good vibe.
“Surgery went well, I had a domestic accident, I fell down the stairs, as you probably already know.

“But thank God the surgery went perfect and now I have to work hard so that in approximately two weeks I can be back on the field, which I am desperate for. Big hugs!”
With star man Hernandez missing from the league opener on Saturday, Leverkusen slumped to a 2-1 loss against Monchengladbach.
Chicharito spent six seasons at Old Trafford, netting 59 goals in 157 appearances, including 37 strikes in 103 Premier League games.

He spent the 2014-15 season on loan at Real Madrid, before moving to the Bundesliga, where he carved out a role as one of the league’s most prolific strikers.
Mexican Hernandez netted 17 goals in just 28 matches in the German top flight, as well as netting five from just nine European games.
He found the net an incredible five times in just four cup games to boot in 2015-16.
