Former Serie A ace Amato Ciciretti bizarrely gets Twitter logo TATTOOED on to his arm after social media bet backfires

FOOTBALLERS past and present have fallen foul of many backfiring bets.

The nation was forced to witness Gary Lineker presenting Match of the Day in his underpants after Leicester pulled off their incredible 5000-1 Premier League title triumph.

And Boro legend Bernie Slaven showed his backside to locals through a department store window in 1999 after pledging to do so if his team grabbed their first win against Manchester United in 68 years.

But few seem more ridiculous than the gamble taken by former Roma man Amato Ciciretti.

The 23-year-old Benevento forward joined Twitter on New year’s Eve and made a birthday promise that if he made it to 500 retweets then he would get the social media site’s logo inked in his arm.

Well guess what?

The Serie B No10’s bio on the site suggests that football and tattoos are his only “certainties”.

One thing for sure is that little blue bird on his arm looks pretty ridiculous.
