Formula E Zurich E-Prix preview: Race time, TV Channel, When is it and information for weekend in Switzerland


MOTORSPORT returns to Switzerland for the first time in 60 years as Formula E hosts the Zurich E-prix for the first time since the racing ban.

Jean-Eric Vergne can wrap up the Championship in Zurich but Brit Sam Bird will hope to keep the championship alive.

Switzerland’s restrictions on circuit racing were lifted in 2015 for fully-electric vehicles.

The ban which was introduced in 1955 followed the deaths of at least 83 spectators, with more than 100 injured at that year’s Le Mans 24 hour race.

The last race in Switzerland was held at the Bremgarten circuit, near Berne, in 1954.

This the home E-Prix of Formula E’s second champion and former F1 star Sebastien Buemi.

What time is the Zurich E-Prix and where can I watch it?

Qualifying and the race will take place on Sunday, June 10.

Qualifying will be available to watch on Spike, with coverage starting at 12.45pm and finishing at 2.10pm.

While coverage for the race gets underway on Channel 5 at 4.30pm.

Driver standings

Jean Eric Vergne is currently leading the driver standings with a 162 points.

Brit Sam Bird trails the Frenchman with 122 points.

And Bird will want to keep his title hopes alive ahead of the double-header in New York, which is the season finale.
