GARETH BALE is on the 30-man shortlist for the 2016 Ballon d’Or, alongside team-mate and favourite Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sergio Aguero, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Gianluigi Buffon are the other names on the list.

Bale would become the first-ever Welsh winner and seventh Brit to claim the award, should he become the first player other than Lionel Messi or Ronaldo to win the award since Kaka in 2007.
The Fifa World Player of the Year and Ballon d’Or awards merged in 2009, but has seen only two winners since.
