GARY NEVILLE must have known he was taking a risk.

Because many versions of the most predictable joke came flooding in on social media as supporters pounced on the long-running comparison between Wayne Rooney and Shrek.
Neville and current Old Trafford club captain Rooney were United and England team-mates for many years.
And, sure enough, fans took the bait after seeing Neville’s strange photo.
Swift responses on Instagram included: “Nice to ssee you’re still good pals with Rooney!” … “Roooooooney Roooooney”… And “Nice of you to take Rooney for a wee holiday mate.”
Rooney, 31, might yet leave United as early as this summer.
But it seems for many football supporters he is Shrek Forever After.
