Gary Neville scores huge own goal by employing a LIVERPOOL fan to host hospitality games at his Old Trafford hotel
MANCHESTER UNITED legend Gary Neville scored a huge own goal by employing a LIVERPOOL fan to host hospitality games at his hotel.
Scouse-hating ‘Red Nev’ who owns trendy Hotel Football overlooking Old Trafford hired Irish compere Connor Phillips to warm up supporters ahead of matches including against their fiercest rivals Liverpool.
It has emerged that those who had paid between £145-285 for the hospitality event a couple of weeks ago had heard Ulster man Connor say: “We’ll see you back here at Hotel Football after the game when I’ll be interviewing Gary Neville and let’s hope we’re celebrating three points for the Reds.”

But those fans who didn’t go to the game and watched the match at the hotel were astonished when they saw the compere jump up and punch the air as Liverpool star James Milner banged home a penalty given by Paul Pogba to put the arch rivals ahead.
Later as United fans trudged back to the hotel disappointed after dropping two points to their biggest rivals, Connor was back in masquerade mode as he welcomed them and went on to interview Gary Neville.
One fan said: "Clearly Gary didn't know about this guy's history of being a massive Liverpool fan.
"Those who saw him celebrate the Liverpool goal were amazed - in that environment he was lucky not to have got a punch on the nose after warming up the die-hard United lot who thought he was one of theirs.
"He must have the skin of a rhino."

Neville has invested in Hotel Football with Ryan Giggs and makes a a fortune on match days.
He is infamous for his hatred of Liverpool and still has chants sung at Old Trafford in his name.
The defender was also furious when he discovered builders had left Liverpool scarves in the foundations in the swimming pool at his new home in Bolton.
The hotel source said: "As a Sky pundit these days Gary has to come across as a bit more placid but deep down there is no taking away he dislikes Liverpool no matter what he says.
"He is a big of part of hotel football on match days but people are saying he won't like the fact this guy has done him over as a Liverpool fan."
Connor will be back at Hotel Football for all of United’s next home games.
