Germany to take Manuel Neuer risk by making crocked stopper World Cup No 1

MANUEL NEUER will be Germany’s first-choice goalkeeper if he makes Joachim Low’s World Cup squad…  despite not having played since September.

Bayern Munich’s Neuer, 32, missed almost the entire season after breaking his foot and undergoing surgery.

He managed only 360 minutes of competitive football in 2017/18.

But Neuer happily came through 30 minutes of a behind-closed-doors friendly against the U20s on Monday unscathed.

Neuer was only beaten by Thomas Muller from the penalty spot and a strike from Julian Draxler.

And now he’s in line to play in Saturday’s friendly game in Austria.
