GREAME SOUNESS was NOT pulled from Sky Sports’ coverage of the final day of the Premier League season – he walked out on them.
It had been thought the former Liverpool skipper was taken off air by Sky for an inappropriate comment aimed at Kop forward Mo Salah after the win against Brighton.
Souness was waxing lyrical about the Premier League Golden Boot winner and recalled a conversation he had with Kelly Cates, the daughter of Kenny Dalglish.
He said: “I was working with Kelly and I said to her ‘He’s like your dad with a sun tan’.”
After the break Souness, 65, was not seen again by Sky viewers as Gary Neville returned to the studio alongside Thierry Henry after co-commentary duties.
Some viewers took to social media to express their anger towards the Scot.
But SunSport understands the two incidents are NOT related.
Souness stormed out of the studio in anger after taking exception to being told he had a few seconds to speak before a commercial break.
The former Scotland international did return after the broadcast to apologise to Sky producers for his behaviour.
As far as the broadcaster is concerned the matter is now closed and Souness is expected to be part of their line-up next season.
