HARRY KANE became the seventh English player to score a Champions League hat-trick during Tottenham’s win against APOEL Nicosia.
Right foot, left foot and headed efforts from their No1 centre-forward earned Spurs the “perfect” victory as they made it six points from six in Cyprus.
With two goals in the 3-1 opening matchday victory over Borussia Dortmund, Kane has now leapt to the top of the scoring charts for this season’s Champions League campaign.
His three goals against Nicosia saw him enter the history books.
Only six of his fellow countrymen had managed to net a treble in the modern-day Champions League.
The first was scored way back in 1995.
But Kane, 24, becomes the first Englishman to score three times in a match since Danny Welbeck three years ago.

However, Newell restored Blackburn‘s lead a minute later — and nine minutes after that had completed his hat-trick.

The Toon miraculously qualified through their first group in the final minute of the last game.
Before being placed alongside Barcelona and Inter Milan in the second group phase.
Shearer’s treble against the German side — who they beat home and away — was one of their few highlights as they finished third.
Wayne Rooney, Manchester United 6 Fenerbahce 2 — 2004
One of the most famous debuts of all-time.
Rooney became the world’s costliest teenager when he joined from Everton — but his introduction was delayed due to the broken metatarsal he suffered at Euro 2004.
When he finally did play, he hit three stunning strikes in front of the Old Trafford crowd.
Michael Owen, Wolfsburg 1 Manchester United 3 — 2009
The Red Devils had been finalists for the past two seasons, but were reeling from the losses of Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez.
And the very fact Owen was a first team player, showed they were slowly moving away from the elite.
But the former Liverpool and Real Madrid striker, then 29, showed he still possessed quality in front of goal with a lethal performance against the reigning German champions.
