HEATHER WATSON served her way out of the French Open.
The British No 2 held her serve just twice in a low-quality match as she lost 6-3 6-4 to Belgium’s Elise Mertens in the second round.

Watson started awfully, setting the pattern of unforced errors and double faults.
It would end up costing her dear in dropping serve twice in the opening three games.
Although the notoriously flaky Mertens lost her way, the Brit was unable to take full advantage.
And when she lost her serve for the fifth time, the set went with it.
