Hoffenheim 3 Borussia Dortmund 1: Bayer Leverkusen miss out on Champions League as goal difference seals fate

HOFFENHEIM and Borussia Dortmund saw off the threat of Bayer Leverkusen to book their places in next season’s Champions League.

Hoffenheim beat Dortmund 3-1 at home as Leverkusen won 3-2 against Hannover.

The results meant they all finished equal on points by the end of the final day in this season’s Bundesliga.

But Leverkusen were the unfortunate ones to miss out on Europe’s biggest competition on goal difference, ending just three goals behind Dortmund and four off Hoffenheim.
