And with Video Assistant Referees (VARs) being introduce in Germany’s top flight next season, Webb is hoping the Premier League follows suit.

Webb told SunSport: “I’m hoping it happens sooner rather than later, because that means we have done our job well enough in the MLS.

“I’m sure the Premier League will be looking at what we do and happens in the Bundesliga next season and the World Cup next year which is really important.

“If we do our job well and have a benefit to the game we are going for maximum benefit with minimum interference then I’m sure the Premier League will follow suit.”

Webb added: “Anything that deters divers is positive, anything that equals the risk and reward balance we have at the moment is good.

“Player now run the risk of a booking, but you could still get a penalty, now we have VAR in place so if you dive and win a penalty we will see that now and if it happen in England you get a ban.”
