Hull City team news vs Arsenal: Ryan Mason and Will Keane pushing to start and new-signing Dieumerci Mbokani included in squad

HULL’S game at home to Arsenal will be the last one with Mike Phelan as caretaker manager.

That’s because the former Manchester United coach is set to sign a two-year deal with The Tigers after the game.

So first will be the enviable task of trying to outwit Arsene Wenger.

New signings Ryan Mason and Will Keane are pushing for a start after featuring off the bench against Burnley in their last Premier League game.

And fellow new-boy Dieumerci Mbokani is also included in the squad.

Michael Dawson still remains sidelined with a knee injury, so Phelan will persist with the centre-back pairing of Curtis Davies and Jake Livermore.

Robert Snodgrass will be looking to continue his fine early-season form.

While Phelan is starting out on his managerial journey, Arsene Wenger is in his 20th year at the Gunners helm.

And Phelan is a huge fan of the Frenchman, who enjoyed a fierce touchline rivalry with Fergie over two decades.

Phelan said: "I have a great admiration for Arsene, who is a real football innovator.

"He brought a new philosophy to the Premier League when he came to Arsenal and treated English football to things we hadn't seen before.

"But not only did he introduce so many new methods, he also stayed true to his principles.

"He deserves great credit for doing that, and I don't see any reason why they can't win the title again this season."

Hull City likely: Jakupovic; Elmohamady, Livermore, Davies, Robertson; Snodgrass, Huddlestone, Clucas, Myler; Diomande, Hernandez.

Arsenal likely: Cech; Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal, Cazorla, Coquelin, Elneny, Ozil, Sanchez, Giroud.
