‘I’m gonna kill you and your whole f*****g team!’: Conor McGregor explodes after facing off with Nate Diaz at UFC 202 weigh-ins

CONOR McGregor and Nate Diaz completed the formalities as they faced off at a loud, raucous UFC 202 weigh-in event at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Both McGregor (168lbs) and Diaz (170.5lbs) successfully made weight earlier in the morning at the official weigh-in for their non-title bout, set for Saturday night at the T-Mobile Arena.

UFC 202 - Weigh-in
Tensions boiled over once again as Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor faced off ahead of their huge rematch at UFC 202

And at the ceremonial weigh-in event at the MGM Grand’s aircraft hangar-sized Marquee Ballroom, the pair exchanged angry words as UFC president Dana White worked hard to ensure no punches were thrown between the duo before fight night.

The pair have already skirmished this week, with Diaz and McGregor hurling bottles and cans at each other as Wednesday’s pre-fight press conference descended into chaos.

And McGregor had some angry words for Diaz and his team at the open workouts on Thursday, declaring:

“F**k Team Diaz! And if you’re down with Team Diaz, then f**k you too!”

And there was the feel of a big-time local derby football match in the Marquee Ballroom as rival groups of Diaz and McGregor fans exchanged taunts and chants before the weigh-ins commenced.

And when UFC commentator Joe Rogan interviewed a fired-up McGregor on stage, the Dubliner unleashed a volley at Team Diaz, saying: “He should have killed me when he had the chance!

“‘Cos now I’m back, and I’m gonna kill you and your whole f*****g team!”

The next time they meet will be in the Octagon in Saturday night’s main event at the T-Mobile Arena, with UFC officials telling SunSport the event is trending towards being one of the Top 5 biggest fight gates in UFC history.

The last time the pair met back at UFC 196, the event broke the UFC’s pay-per-view record, with in excess of 1.6million pay-per-view buys.

And after a slow start to the week, the anticipation for the rematch has now hit fever pitch in Vegas as the fight capital of the world braces itself for arguably the biggest rematch in UFC history.

UFC 202: Diaz v McGregor 2 takes place on Saturday night. Watch it live on BT Sport 2 from 1am.
