IPL prize money 2018: How much do Indian Premier League winners CSK get paid?


THE Indian Premier League is financially the most lucrative T20 competition in the world.

And the 2018 winners Chennai Super Kings are set to earn another princely sum.

The IPL has a revenue sharing model like football’s Premier League where most of the money comes from TV rights deal is shared equally between the clubs.

The central pool, which includes revenue from IPL title sponsors and other partner companies, is also shared out equally.

So, how much do the winners receive?

In total, the IPL prize pot is a whopping £6million.

The winners of 2018 IPL will get around £3million, while the losing finalists will pocket about £1.5m.

The other two teams involved in the play-offs are due £750,00.

It is divided into two parts with £1.5m going to franchise while the other £1.5m is distributed equally among the squad.

Teams who don’t qualify for playoffs are not paid any prize money.
