JAMES RODRIGUEZ has admitted he wants to quit Real Madrid and stay at Bayern Munich.

The Colombian midfielder, 26, joined the German side on a two-year loan deal last July.

After a tricky start to life in the Bundesliga, the star has gone on to produce a number of impressing displays.

Rodriguez grabbed his seventh goal and 11th assist of the campaign in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Cologne.

And now he has publicly declared his intention to stay at Bayern Munich, who are 24 points clear at the top of the league going into their final game.

He said: “I’m doing very well.

“It’s a good league here in Germany, the stadiums are full. I came here with a different perception.

“I’m fine, I hope I stay here. I feel very good.”

Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed last month they have the option to sign James permanently for £37million.

But the chief was also insistent that there was no need to rush over triggering the clause.
