Cox was stopped by George Groves in the World Boxing Super Series – his first career loss – but returned with a routine stoppage of Harry Matthews on the Whyte vs Browne bill.

He will face ‘The Gorilla’, who was impressive against Patrick Nielsen in October and took the Dane’s No4 spot in the WBA rankings as a result.

THE fight takes place on the undercard of David Haye’s long-awaited rematch with Tony Bellew.

It will be held at the O2 Arena in London on May 5, 2018.
