CLAIMS that John Cena dated Smackdown Women’s Champion Carmella following his split with Nikki Bella have been denied.
The 16-time world champion and his ex-fiancee shocked the world when they announced in April their engagement was off.
They were due to tie the knot in Mexico on May 5 with rumours suggesting Cena, 41, not wanting to become a father being the reason behind the breakup.
But the internet has been running wild with rumours over recent days that the legend got over his heartache almost immediately by dating 30-year-old Carmella, real name Leah Van Dale.
However, respected wrestling journalist Mike Johnson of PWInsider has blasted claims of a romance between the Leader of the Cenation and The Princess of Staten Island as nonsense.
Johnson said: “Nothing, there’s been nothing to the Carmella/John Cena thing. I don’t know where it started.
“I don’t care where it started. It wasn’t true. Not true, never true. Has never been true.”
Carmella used to date fellow SmackDown grappler Big Cass but the pair split late last year.

Cena and Bella have been dropping strong hints they could soon get back together.
The ex-WWE Champion has desperately been trying to win her back and stated he has changed his mind about having kids.

He said: “It’s up and it’s down. It’s been incredibly reflective, which is amazing, but it’s very difficult. I had my heart broken out of nowhere… or for me it was out of nowhere.
“Anyone who has experienced that knows it comes with a series of bad feelings.
“I still love Nicole, I would love to marry Nicole, I still would love to have a family with Nicole. It was an unfortunate set of circumstances where our relationship ended.
“I love her. I want to be with her. I want to make her my wife. I want to be the father of her children. I just want us to work.”
Cena and Bella’s next WWE appearance is yet to be confirmed.
