LEGENDARY football commentator John Motson has been given his own Twitter emoji to mark his incredible career at the BBC.
The sheepskin coat-wearing Beeb icon is putting down his microphone after 50 years.
Crystal Palace’s home clash against West Brom on Sunday will be his last.
Fans have been given the chance to pay tribute to Motson, 72, by using a special emoji.
He is the first UK sport broadcaster to be honoured this way.
A cartoon image of a man with grey hair, glasses and brown and white sheepskin coat is available for people to tweet.
Users simply need to write one of the following: #JohnMotson, #ThanksMotty, #ThanksMotson or #ThankYouMotty and the emoji will appear.
It is available from today until midnight May 21.
Motson will be presented with the Special Award at the TV Baftas hours after finishing his final shift.
He said: “I’m truly humbled that the BBC is dedicating such a special evening to me.

“I’ve been very lucky to have witnessed some incredibly special moments in football and I look forward to sitting down with my family, and many football fans in the country, to look back on the past 50 years.”
Motson explained: “I just thought my 50th year in the BBC is 2018 and it has to end some time and I thought that would be a good note to go out.”
But football fans can still expect to hear his voice on other platforms.
He said: “I’m not retiring from everything, I’m retiring from the BBC.
“I’m certainly not going pipe and slippers.”
